GRAPHIC/WEB DESIGNER WANTED

Design Action Collective is a worker-owned cooperative design and communications studio located in downtown Oakland, California. We are committed to providing high-quality visual communication tools to progressive non-profit and grassroots activist organizations (http://www.designaction.org).

Design Action is a fast-paced, production heavy environment and is currently seeking graphic design applicants.

JOB DESCRIPTION

40 hrs/week, $17.25/hr with a great benefits package (non-negotiable), worker-ownership position after a 9 month period.

Starting immediately

Requirements:

Interest and involvement in progressive social change work and worker-ownership
Minimum of 2 years professional work experience in graphic design
Print and web design skills
Experience working directly with clients and vendors
Proficient in industry standard software: Adobe Creative Suite programs and QuarkXpress
Ability to juggle multiple projects under tight deadlines
Experience working with multi page documents
Understanding of the print process
Sense of humor

Big pluses:

Logos/identity
Knowledge of html/css and familiarity with Content Management Systems
Interest/experience with information architecture for web
Flash

We are a Mac-based shop.
